Purpose: Provide sales, operations and personnel leadership for a specific store and ensure all business and personnel targets are met or exceeded. Responsible for operational and fiscal accountability for the store. Assists the District Manager in various operational responsibilities for a small group of stores outside of their own.
Key Accountabilities: - Manages and allocates resources effectively and efficiently to ensure store meets key performance indicators and profit and loss expectations.
- Positively communicates and demonstrates the Brand values, attitude and culture.
- Ensures consistent implementation of all corporate programs, initiatives and strategies.
- Provides constructive feedback to District Manager on success and feasibility of current and new programs, other initiatives, and specific store needs.
- Creates effective succession, recruiting, hiring and training plans, resulting in lower store turnover.
- Develops staff by evaluating and providing performance feedback (performance and potential), seizing all coaching and training opportunities and fostering a team environment to meet store and company objectives.
- Promotes a high performance culture by setting clear expectations, holding employees accountable, creating an effective and efficient work environment, and setting goals that focus the team on key drivers that impact success.
- Cooperates with District Manager to develop clear action plans for store and thrives to achieve objectives, deliverables and timelines of plan.
- Takes clear accountability for training and execution in store in all areas, including business, operations, sales/customer service, and visual merchandising, while also coordinating with regional trainer to ensure all employees are trained in Retail Standards.
- Perform timely completion of all recordkeeping associated with applicants, new hires, payroll, performance appraisals, salary reviews, counselling, disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Produces results under a variety of situations/market conditions and overcomes barriers to the company's success in compliance with corporate guidelines.
- May provide support to the store opening process with new locations within the district.
Area Management - Supports and coaches a small number of Store Managers to drive sales and meet key performance indicators, while managing expenses to increase profitability.
- Analyze profit and loss statements and trends in relation to objectives and competitive activities and take or recommend necessary corrective action to management.
- Completes regular store visits to stores and develops action plans for development areas with clear objectives, deliverables, and timelines for completion.
- Ensures stores in Area consistently implement all corporate programs (Retail Portal), policies, procedures, initiatives, and strategies.
- Assists District Manager in evaluating and providing performance feedback (using adidas TLU language), seizing all coaching and training opportunities and facilitating a team environment to meet company objectives.
- Assists District Manager in actively monitoring staff levels across the Area, while creating effective succession, recruiting, hiring, and training plans to meet current or future business needs.
- Acts as a coaching liaison with Store Managers in respective Area for basic performance issues. Engages District Manager where formal performance documentation and/or progressive discipline is required for store management in the stores in their Area.
- Assists District Manager and may partner with HR in addressing employee relations issues as both a management coach and employee advocate

- Ability to make recommendations that effectively resolve problems by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and effective decision making skills.
- Ability to travel 30% of the time and in some cases with limited notice.
- Well developed ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak (conversational) English.
- Technical proficiency with MS applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other computer software (Internet, POS Systems, etc).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work for long periods of time, typically 10-12 hours per day, during peak sales periods which include, but are not limited to, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Back-to-School.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or a minimum of three years in Sporting Apparel & Footwear Retail industry in a sales or operations management position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
